"Cows in the classroom? You and your students will delight in this author's interactive and age-appropriate visit! Adorned with bovine ears and suit, Ms. Weis has enthusiastically 'mooo'-ved years of young audiences through the process of writing. Her energy makes this educational experience one that I look forward to more and more."

"A guest poet at our Poetry Cafe for six to twelve year olds, Carol's warmth immediately put everyone at ease. She both "opened" and "closed" the cafe with her lively, personal poems, and as children stood to share their poems, she offered wonderfully observant and supportive comments. Carol's presence added authenticity and excitement to the festive gathering."
Kate Lamdin

"You were moo-velous. Simply bovine - er, divine. We enjoyed being herded by you. The cow puppets were a great touch and it was really fun hearing you read your book the way you hear the voices. The adults especially liked having you talk about the process from your daughter's cow sighting to seeing cows in a circus on the pages of a whimsical book. Good luck with future publishing ventures!"
"Thank you so much for visiting the Brimfield Public Library! The children had a great time listening to the story, finding clues on the cover of the book and creating their very own cow puppet. I think the parents had fun, too! :) Thanks again!"
"Cowabunga! What can be more fun for children than a hilarious story, a cow puppet craft, and a jazzy cow costume? Carol Weis, a.k.a. the Cow Lady, - an absolute hit at the library!"
Amanda Diurba, Children’s Librarian, Grafton Public Library
"Thanks for coming out to our library to read “When the Cows Got Loose”. There were lots of giggles and smiles as you read. The children LOVED your cow costume and ‘reading’ cow puppet! Everyone was very creative with coloring their cow puppets. I didn’t know cows came in that many colors!"
"Carol Weis' reading of When the Cows Got Loose was highly entertaining. She brought so much energy and amazing zest for her craft. The children were highly engaged and so were the adults. I look forward to inviting Ms. Weis back to read for us." Alicia Daniels Florida Free Library Florida, Ma 01247 Carol Weis, better known as “The Cow Lady” visited our library during Ellington’s spring vacation week. She was everything I had hoped for and more! Dressed in black and white spots, with cow hat and parasol, the Cow Lady greeted each child with her two cow-puppet friends. Music played in the background as Carol introduced her book WHEN THE COWS GOT LOOSE. The children were completely absorbed into her reading and the dramatic illustrations of the book. She did not rush through it, but gave her audience time to enjoy each escapade as it unfolded. Completing the program, Carol had prepared materials so that each child could create a cow paper-bag puppet to take home. It was a wonderful hour of fun for everyone who attended! Thanks Carol!
Carol, I thoroughly enjoyed your visit and story-time with the children here at Andover Public Library. I saw wonderful smiles on all faces present as a result of the story, as well as, the making of the cow puppets. You did a terrific job and I would recommend you for other venues in a heart beat. Cathy Campen Director of Programs Thank you for a fun program! The children enjoyed it and so did the parents! Your book is delightful and has been a big hit here in the library. Nancy Brewer Children's Librarian Ledyard Public Libraries 860-464-9912 nbrewer@ledyard.lioninc.org It is sometimes difficult to attract kids inside for an event on a lovely summer day. I was happy to see that though the group was small, they all seemed enthusiastic and they enjoyed having the person who wrote the book read it to them. They had fun making the cow puppets. Thanks for putting it all together! Sandra E. King Children's Librarian Brooks Memorial Library 224 Main St. Brattleboro, VT 05301 sandy@brooks.lib.vt.us The children here at the Derby Neck Library in Derby, CT had a wonderful time with Carol Weis' "Cow-Lady." They listened to calliope music and got to play with the wonderful cow puppets. Carol read her enchanting story, "When the Cows Got Loose," and helped the children make their own cow puppets with lots of fun materials. Thanks for a great program! Kathleen Gordon Derby Neck Library 307 Hawthorne Ave. Derby, CT 06418 203-734-1492 We've had so much positive feedback from everyone who attended the program!
